Dornier Technology, Inc., led by Nikos (Nick) Gitsis, confirmed its intention to participate in Trident Northstar’s consortium for Subic Bay International Airport (SBIA) in a letter of intent dated August 24, 2026. The letter sets out discussions on airport operation and maintenance responsibilities as the consortium works toward definitive agreements.
Dornier’s participation adds aviation leadership to a team bringing together airport operations, infrastructure, and logistics. The consortium’s proposed airport-operating role is part of its participation in the SBIA project process.
Aviation experience within the consortium
Dornier Technology identifies Gitsis as its President and CEO. Dornier Technology provides aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, with its main office at Clark International Airport. Trident Northstar works with Dornier across aircraft recovery, maintenance, hangars, airport operations, and air cargo.
For Trident Northstar, the consortium connects an aviation perspective with its focus on logistics, infrastructure, and rapid operational support. Airport planning involves more than an airfield: it also requires attention to ground coordination, cargo movement, facilities, and the links between those activities.
Subsequent SBIA developments
In a subsequent announcement, Trident Northstar confirmed that it entered the Swiss challenge for Subic Bay International Airport on September 11, 2026. The consortium’s proposal remains subject to the comparative challenge and applicable approval process.
For partnership and operational inquiries, organizations can review Trident Northstar’s port and airfield operations capabilities or contact the team regarding the consortium’s work and related operational requirements.
Trident Northstar is headquartered in the United States and works across logistics, infrastructure, and operational support for customers worldwide.
